The
Association for the Rights of Catholics in the Church
(ARCC)
MISSION STATEMENT
To bring about substantive structural change in the Catholic Church,
ARCC seeks to institutionalize a collegial understanding of Church
in which decision-making is shared and accountability is realized
among Catholics of every kind and condition. It affirms that there
are fundamental rights which are rooted in the humanity and baptism
of all Catholics. To this end ARCC developed and works to implement
a Charter of the Rights of Catholics in the Church and a Proposed
Catholic Constitution.

Call to Action (CTA)
is a Catholic movement working for equality and justice in the
Church and society. An independent national organization of over
25,000 people and 40 local organizations, CTA believes that the
Spirit of God is at work in the whole church, not just in its
appointed leaders. The entire Catholic Church has the obligation of
responding to the needs of the world and taking initiative in
programs of peace and justice. CTA acts as a nexus where the full
panoply of Church renewal issues come into focus, intersecting and
interacting to produce a vision of the Catholic Church as it can and
should be. CTA promotes its vision of a progressive, engaged
Catholicism through its acclaimed annual conferences, award-winning
publications, extensive network of regional groups and joint
programs with other Catholic renewal organizations. |

Who We Are
CFFC shapes and
advances sexual
and reproductive
ethics that are
based on
justice, reflect
a commitment to
women's well
being and
respect and
affirm the moral
capacity of
women and men to
make sound
decisions about
their lives.
Through
discourse,
education and
advocacy, CFFC
works in the US
and
internationally
to infuse these
values into
public policy,
community life
and Catholic
social thinking
and teaching.
What We Do
Seminars,
workshops,
technical
assistance,
publishing and
collaboration
with collegial
groups are all
components of
CFFC's work. At
the core of our
efforts is an
education and
communications
program that
carries out the
research,
development,
production and
distribution of
publications on
reproductive
health, ethics,
theology and
other topics.
Much of this
work is produced
in Spanish and
Portuguese as
well as
English.
CFFC educates
opinion leaders,
policy makers,
the press and
the public about
the theological,
ethical and
political
initiatives of
the Roman
Catholic
church—as well
as prochoice
perspectives—along
with their
implications for
the broader
community,
public policy
and the lives of
women.

Catholics Speak Out
(CSO), a
program of the Quixote Center,
encourages reform in the Roman Catholic
Church and adult responsibility for
faith. In particular, the project works
towards equality and justice within the
Church and dialogue between the laity
and hierarchy on issues of sexuality,
sexual orientation and reproduction.
Since 1987, when the project was
founded, CSO has sponsored several
full-page signature ads in major
publications such as The New York
Times and The National Catholic
Reporter; commissioned a Gallup
poll; defended theologians such as
William Callahan and Matthew Fox under
attack by the Vatican; and has
published a book, Rome Has Spoken,
a compendium of papal and conciliar
statements that reveal changes in church
teaching over the centuries.

GAY
CATHOLIC FORUM
A Gifted People Sharing Their Faith
|
|
Gay Catholic FORUM
exists to encourage and support gay and lesbian
Catholics to become all we were created to be.
We know that we are loved by God.
We believe that sexuality is a fundamental element
of every human being and that our homosexuality is a
special gift God has given us. We thank God for this
wonderful gift!
As baptized members of the Church, the People of
God, we recognize our responsibility to use our
gifts in the service of God. We strive to be
faithful followers of Jesus, our Redeemer. We
believe that the Holy Spirit will guide us in living
our vocation.
We are sorry that some in the Church do not
understand or appreciate our gift. While we are
saddened and hurt by the mis-information these
people promote, we pray with hope for a time when
the Church is more attuned to the working of the
Holy Spirit. We trust in the Lord.
We will not allow anyone to come between us and the
love of God.
For us, now, it is clear that God loves diversity!
Gay Catholic FORUM
intends to celebrate that diversity within our own
gay/lesbian community. We thank God for each other.
We journey together in Faith. |

The international movement We are Church,
founded in Rome in 1996, is committed to the
renewal of the Roman Catholic Church on the
basis of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965)
and the theological spirit developed from it.
We are Church evolved from the Church
Referendum in Austria in 1995 that was started
after the paedophilia scandal around Vienna's
Cardinal Groer. We are Church is represented in
more than twenty countries on all continents and
is networking world-wide with similar-minded
reform groups.
As international studies of renowned religion
sociologists confirm, We are Church as a reform
movement within the Church represents the "voice
of the people in the pews" and has demonstrated
this in several Shadow Synods in Rome.

A Network
Encouraging Pastoral Care
With Lesbian And Gay Catholics
And Their Families
|
|
| Increasing
numbers of lesbian and gay people are taking another
look at the Catholic Church. Many are beginning to
reclaim their membership in the Body of Christ and
the Church. Many are discovering in the Church a new
spirit of openness.
“Baptism makes us members of the Body of Christ.
‘Therefore... we are members of one another.’
(Ephesians 4:25) Baptism incorporates us into the
Church. From the baptismal fonts is born the one
People of God of the New Covenant, which transcends
all the natural or human limits of nations,
cultures, races, and sexes: ‘For by one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body.’ (I Corinthians
12:13)” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1267)
Inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and
grounded in the Catholic moral and social justice
tradition, the National Association of Catholic
Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries, as a resource
and network, encourages pastoral care with lesbian
and gay persons and their families.

The
Rainbow Sash Movement is an organization of gay, lesbian,
bisexual, transgender Catholics, with their families and friends,
who are publicly calling the Catholic Church to conversion of heart
around issues of human sexuality.
Members of the movement are committed to bringing the gifts, the
witness and the challenge of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
people into the heart of the church. Through our public, prayerful,
visible presence at the Eucharist and in the ongoing life of God's
People, through our work for justice, through speaking the truth of
our lives and our loving, we call the whole church to build with us
a future of liberation, reconciliation and joy for all people.
