Welcome to the Christian Gay Network. This is the homepage of the Christian Gay Network.
We are an international group of gays who are at ease with our homosexuality or striving to become more and more at ease.
We believe God loves us including our homosexuality and wants us to live whole lives in peace with Him, ourselves (including our homosexuality) and the people around us.
We want to offer support to each other, especially to those of us, who live in areas where homosexuality and christianity are not always "good friends", areas like Asia, Africa, USA, .....
We consider ourselves beyond the discussion about homosexuality being a sin, disease, wrong choice, etc.
We hope you too will want to join in and lift up our spirits.

First Light is a community for sharing concern, struggle, experience and opinion on integration of healthy LGBTQ sexual identity and practice and sincere faith identity, believing these are compatible and that sexual and spiritual integration is God's will for all. This is an affirming, respectful, mutually caring community, a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning people in a society that oppresses and denies them the dignity and worth that belong to all God's creation. First Light is a spiritually-grounded counter to the mistaken notion that homophobia is supported, even mandated, by Christian scripture, and that hatred and bigotry are acceptable Christian responses to other human beings. Topics include coming out, LGBTQ-affirmative Bible interpretation, personal experience in church and society, current issues and events. Please be non-prescriptive, non-judgmental and non-argumentative. Supportive or inquiring non-LGBTQ persons are welcome, but condemnation, abuse or attempts to change orientation of others is not. Candid opinions may be expressed but flaming or demeaning others is unacceptable. PLEASE, no sales messages or commercial self-promotion. This is a sanctuary for reflection, an opportunity for conversation and mentorship, a means to develop, test and clarify spiritual understandings, a place to bring wounds and prayer needs. It offers warm welcome and great latitude for nurturing a spiritual dimension, respecting your current location on the journey. Private conversation offlist is also available. Rooted in the unconditional inclusive love of Jesus of Nazareth, First Light exerts no pressure for others to adopt the same path. It is cross-denominational, supra-sectarian, moderated by an M.Div. graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary trained in counseling, theology and pastoral care, with more than 45 years experience of homophobia in the world and the church. The Gay/Lesbian Christian Prayer Network is for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered Christians and our allies. It may be used to share prayer requests, praises, LGBT Christian related information etc. The list is open to everyone, however its main focus is the GLBT Christian communities. It exists to share prayers and offer support to the LGBT Christian Community. If this doesn't work for you, please don't join this list. If you wish to debate the Bible and homosexuality, this list is NOT the place to do that. Sincere questions are welcome, however be advised that this is NOT a discussion list; its a prayer list. It has been specifically created as a place where people who are curious about what GLBT Christians believe can get information and make connections. It is: For GLBT Christians (i.e. gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered) For Anti-GLBT Christians And for anyone else who is curious about the biblical teachings regarding homosexuality. Debates and discussions can be frank and at times heated but, hopefully, always sincere and respectful. Flaming is discouraged, however members are encouraged to speak their minds openly and honestly.
Please note: This list is a place where GLBT Christians 'give an answer for the things we believe' to those with honest questions. It is NOT intended as an anti-GLBT platform; it is for discussion, not for gay bashing. Those who abuse this freedom of expression will be removed. Warning: This list is not for those with thin skin!
