National Organizations/Ministries |

We are a community of faith dedicated to sharing our beliefs and
experiences with anyone seeking answers to spiritual questions.
Launched in 1999, explorefaith.org is a non-profit organization with
a growing list of Partner Churches that support its mission and
development. Explorefaith.org and its associates are deeply
committed to ongoing spiritual formation for people of all ages and
all backgrounds, living in countries around the world.
We believe in an embracing, forgiving and merciful God whose chief
characteristic is love. We believe God is constantly reaching out to
us and that we can experience the heart of God through Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christ bridges the chasms that separate us from God,
and we seek to follow Christ's teachings in faith and action.

Welcome to
ChristianGay.com. We dedicate this website to all GLBT
who have been hurt and rejected by mainline denominations,
supposedly in the name of Jesus. We hope that within these pages you
will find that God has never condemned you for being who you are,
and that his love for you has never changed. We hope you will come
to understand that He has never directed those hateful efforts
towards any people group. We also pray that, through the moving of
the Holy Spirit, you will find the divine power to forgive them as
God has forgiven you ("Our Father" Prayer, Matthew 6:9-15; and
Matthew 18:21-35).

"What is a 'Bible
Christian'?"
A brief definition useful here is:
A "Bible Christian" is someone who accepts and
believes the Bible, as Jesus and the apostles
taught it, and not human tradition or
decision, should have ultimate authority in our
lives.
That means that if our pastor or family,
friends, or denomination tells us to do or
believe something that the Bible doesn't say or
even speaks against, then we go with what the
Bible - and not what our pastor, family,
friends, or church - teaches.
Why would we want to trust the Bible before
human tradition or rules? Because
the Bible gives us a foundation of truth that
human opinion and theorizing can never give.
It was human beings and human tradition, for
example, that said the Bible "proves" people
from African ancestry are "cursed" and should be
subject to people of European ancestry. The
Bible never said that, and anyone who put its
authority before human authority would not
accept that false interpretation - and they
could have used the Bible to prove the
whole idea was false.
Now,
there are people who claim to put
Bible-authority before human authority
- such are many who abuse and condemn Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and other people, in fact.
But a closer look also quickly reveals errors
in how they are using, understanding, or
interpreting Scripture.
For example, the misuse of Romans 1 as if it
were a condemnation of gay people completely
misses that Paul was writing not about
gay people, but about pagan straight people
who had intentionally rejected God so deeply
that they did all sorts of things for "kicks"
that even their own bodies wouldn't naturally do
- including sexual acts with people of their
same sex. Does the sexual act define the sexual
orientation? Of course not! Otherwise, there
would be many fewer gay people in the world
today, since most gay people at one or more
times in their lives participate in opposite-sex
sexual acts, trying to conform to a homophobic
society's "rules". So claiming Romans 1 condemns
gay people is a clear misinterpretation and
misapplication of Scripture - no matter how
"biblical" one claims to be in one's use of
Scripture living and understanding.
Therefore,
we add that using good Bible-study and
interpretation practice is also required
to be a true "Bible Christian".
Otherwise, despite what it might be called, it
still isn't the Bible - but once again human
tradition or decision - that is really running
our "spiritual game"! Are any of us "perfect" in
our understanding and interpretation of
Scripture? No, of course not. But we know that
even though good ball players also drop
the ball, they do so far less often, and then
recover with far more speed and accuracy, than
bad ball players ever do. Therefore, we
practice-practice-practice - and require the
same of those who guide and teach us - so that
our lives and spiritual understanding are led by
good Bible use, and not bad!

| The God &
Sexuality Conference (GSC) is a unique event,
combining academic presentations and workshop style
sessions in a conference of Scholars and Students,
Leaders and Lay-people. The conference, held at Bard
College in upstate New York, is distinct as a
student initiated conference for professionals
interested in religion and issues of sexuality and
gender.
The God and Sexuality conference was first held
in April of 1999 at Bard College in Upstate New
York. The conference included five sessions and a
panel discussion based on the propaganda film "The
Gay Agenda." The Keynote speaker was Rabbi Steven
Greenberg, the first openly gay orthodox rabbi. The
conference was an immediate success and was again
held in April of 2001, featuring four academic
presentations as well as three workshop sessions. A
total of twelve speakers presented, eight of whom
are professors at a university or college. |

Welcome to Mercy To
All, the Internet ministry site for Logos Ministries. Since
1972, Rev. Bob Ellis has been teaching Bible classes and seminars on
a quest for the truth about God through Jesus Christ. For Bob, it’s
not enough to simply grasp sound doctrine and believe the “right”
things. He wanted the information to mean something; to make a
difference in the way life is lived. He wanted to find the real joy
and peace that Jesus promised and the abundant life that He came to
give us. So Bob’s approach to scripture is not to find a replacement
for the Old Testament Mosaic Law, so that we can build a standard no
one can live up to and continue to live our lives in guilt and fear.
His goal was and is to find the way of freedom, relating to the LORD
in righteousness by practicing the presence of God through faith by
grace. |

Q-SPIRIT'S MISSION
Q-Spirit is a non-profit division of Revolutionary Wisdom dedicated
to catalyzing the necessary conditions for queer people to fully
claim our spiritual roles of service, leadership and community
enrichment in the world.
Our current
primary strategic thrust is to empower queer people to fully claim
and integrate our spiritual natures, which so many of us have
attempted to suppress.
Our premise is that, as we acknowledge our spiritual heritage, we
will experience an increased sense of self, a deeper and more
complete experience of life. Moreover, we hope to explore and
redefine the expressions of our spirituality, while discovering how
we can make a difference together in ways we could not do alone. In
the process, we aim to facilitate a sense of belonging among
individuals exploring their own spiritual path. |

Justin R. Cannon, Founder
|

Justin spent 11 years of his young life in an
intentional Christian community in the inner
city of Detroit. Currently he is majoring in
French with minors in both Religion and ESL at
Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Raised in
the Episcopal Church, later interest in
Catholic, Orthodox, and Quaker theologies have
led to an ecumenical perspective that recognizes
a deep sense of unity among Christians that
transcends the walls of denominations. After he
graduates, he plans to attend seminary to pursue
priesthood in the Episcopal Church.
In 2002 Justin began his own personal quest for
knowledge in what is representative of a growing
number of gay Christians seeking to know what
the Bible really says about homosexuality. What
he discovered through in-depth Bible study began
his personal journey out of the shadows of
self-hate and lies, into the Light of
self-acceptance. With division in the larger
Christian Church surrounding this issue, he
established TruthSetsFree.net to educate
Christians and all others who have been
influenced by the six de-facto Bible verse
distortions often used to condemn homosexuality.
This website has been established to share that
Good News with the Christian church, so that gay
believers can know that Truth which frees!
