Welcome
Welcome to the homepage of the
Committee on Lesbian and Gay History
(CLGH), an affiliated society of the American
Historical Association. The Committee on Lesbian and Gay
History (CLGH) was founded in 1979 to promote the study of
homosexuality in the past and present by facilitating
communication among scholars in a variety of disciplines
working on a variety of cultures. Since 1982, CLGH has been
officially recognized as an affiliate of the
American Historical
Association and meets annually in conjunction with the
AHA, where CLGH sponsors sessions on lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, and queer history. One need not be a member of
the AHA to join CLGH.
The CLGH encourages the development of specialized courses
in LGBTQ studies as well as the inclusion of LGBTQ topics in
general history courses. It promotes local history archives
and projects and coordinates activities with other
professional caucuses. The CLGH also seeks to prevent
discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgendered, and queer historians, in keeping with AHA
policies. The CLGH publishes a
newsletter 2 – 4 times a year, produces a
directory of members, awards four scholarly
prizes, and maintains an
email announcements list and this web page. |

Do You Love Me?
A poem by Rachel Miller that was used very successfully in
telling family and friends about my cross-dressing. It puts
cross-dressing into the perspective of the overall person whom they
already know. |

Male Equality -
Welcome to Male Equality and all it's
inhabitants, resources, information, and whatever else that
is contained herein. So what is this website about?
Male: Pertaining to the male sex of hominid’s, generally
referred to as men, man, and/or boy. Equality: Being
equal or having sameness. So mostly this site is about
males and the inequality that they face for being male. One
would think that males already have equality given all the
women’s rights and other movements to make females equal.
But I'm sure there are many males out there that disagree
that they have the same equality as females.
Why not "Mens Rights?" I thought about
using "Mens Rights" but it's not actually about rights, most
males already have the right to do a lot of what they want.
But, in many aspects they are not equal in being able to do
the same things as Females are able to do. So even though a
male may have the right to do it, he is usually not equal in
actually being able to do it. As such there are no laws or
anything to help males become equal, but given the amount of
bigotry some face, you would think there would be laws to
prevent this.
Why "Male" instead of "Men/Man" or "Boy" Male is used
instead of men/man or boys as it encompasses the entire
scope of the male race independent of age. On this
website one can find the numerous discrepancies that males
face in their life. And hopefully others will find it a
place to share their experiences both positive and negative
and hopefully will help others who face similar situations. |

Your Family Friends and Neighbors was founded in January of 1990
with the original purpose of putting on the now traditional Pride
Parade and Rally. Over the years YFFN has expanded with other

counter the ignorance and prejudice manifesting itself in an
Anti-gay initiative.
Over the years, YFFN has expanded to include the Youth Alliance
for Diversity, Women's Night, Tri-States Transgender, Qtv,

The Chicago
Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame
is both a historic event and an
exhibit. Through the Hall of Fame,
residents of Chicago and the world
are made aware of the contributions
of Chicago's lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender communities and the
communities' efforts to eradicate
homophobic bias and discrimination.
With the support of the City of
Chicago Commission on Human
Relations, the Advisory Council on
Gay and Lesbian Issues (now the
Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual and Transgender Issues)
established the Chicago Gay and
Lesbian Hall of Fame in June 1991.
The inaugural induction ceremony
took place during Gay and Lesbian
Pride Week at City Hall, hosted by
Mayor Richard M. Daley. This was the
first event of its kind in the
country.
The Hall of Fame
recognizes the volunteer and
professional achievements of
lesbians and gay men, their
organizations, and their friends, as
well as their contributions to the
lesbian and gay community and to the
City of Chicago. This is a unique
tribute to dedicated individuals and
organizations whose services have
improved the quality of life for all
of Chicago's citizens.

The Mid-Missouri LGBT Coalition (formerly
Columbia/Mid-MO LGBT Coalition) was formed in
February 2002 after a focus group, facilitated by Jeff Wunrow of
PROMO, held a meeting to help the local community better organize
and develop its resources. After 6 months of meetings, in which the
first brochure-type directory was produced, the above name was
approved and the original group of interested individuals decided
this group should be more than a focus and advisory group.
In August 2002, the
Coalition was born with its first Steering Group members. The
mission and vision statement were also written and approved at this
time.
