National Organizations

The National Stonewall Democrats is a grassroots network connecting LGBT Democratic activists from Seattle,
Washington to Austin, Texas to Little Rock, Arkansas to Atlanta, Georgia. With more than 90 chapters across the
country, Stonewall is a grassroots force for social change within our movement and within our party. Our members
do the hard work of calling voters, putting together campaign mailings, going door-to-door for our fair-minded
candidates and having tough conversations with Democratic party officials about why our families need and deserve
more support from our party and its elected officials.

Who we are

Log Cabin Republicans courageously stand on the front lines of today's most important battleground for gay and lesbian civil rights. We are the nation's leading voice for fairness, inclusion, and tolerance in the GOP.

Our party stands at a crossroads. The GOP must choose between fairness and freedom or intolerance and exclusion. Log Cabin works tirelessly to make sure the Republican Party chooses the right path. Ending up on the wrong side of history will cost the GOP  for decades to come. So we tirelessly strive to achieve liberty and equality for all Americans.

What we believe

We are loyal Republicans. We believe in low taxes, limited government, strong defense, free markets, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Log Cabin represents an important part of the American family-taxpaying, hard working people who proudly believe in this nation's greatness. We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty, freedom, and equality. Log Cabin stands up against those who preach hatred and intolerance. We stand up for the idea that all Americans deserve to be treated equal-regardless of their sexual orientation.

Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Leadership Institute - A BREAKthrough is many voices in government. loving parents protecting their family. the best person getting the job. a secure retirement - guaranteed. ‘til death do us part. Not much of a leap for some – unless you’re a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender American. Our mission is simple: to achieve true equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans by electing and supporting openly LGBT candidates and officials at the federal, state and local levels of public office.

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition works to ensure that classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow, and succeed - whether or not they meet expectations for masculinity and femininity.

As a human rights organization, GenderPAC also promotes an understanding of the connection between discrimination based on gender stereotypes and sex, sexual orientation, age, race, and class.

What Is GLIL?

Gays and Lesbians for Individual Liberty, or GLIL, is an international organization of persons committed to the political philosophy of individual liberty, both generally and as it affects lesbians, gay men, and bisexual persons. As such, we welcome classical liberals, market liberals, limited-government libertarians, anarcho-capitalists, and objectivists, as well as persons wishing to learn more about our views.

We believe that the source of sovereignty and the fundamental unit of society is the individual and reject any higher secular authority. We do not place the good of the "collective whole" above that of individuals, since "the collective whole" is at most a macroscopic averaging of individual actions. Nor do we accept the majority as the final arbiter, since being a majority does not confer ownership of the minority. Moreover, appeals to the "higher good" are circular, since they presuppose a moral right to impose one's view of the "higher good" on others.

From individual sovereignty we derive the non-coercion principle, which states that no person has the right to initiate force or fraud against another for any reason, no matter how virtuous that reason may appear. This principle deductively leads to "liberal" positions on some issues, such as as whether government should prohibit sodomy or drug use, and to "conservative" positions on other issues, such as whether government should redistribute wealth or protect us from our own foolishness.

We reject as arbitrary the distinction between "economic" and "personal" individual liberties. If the individual owns herself, then she must necessarily also own both her own body and the fruits of her own labor, absent a voluntary alienation of either. Thus, the two forms of individual liberty, often seen as being in opposition, actually have the same source.

If Jesus of Nazareth was anything, he was an extraordinary friend of the down- trodden, definitely a Liberal, whose advocacy on their behalf so infuriated
the ultra-Conservative religious and political leaders of his day that they had him killed to prevent the public from hearing
the very liberal teaching that you
will see quoted abundantly in Jesus' own words on this web site !

Those who actually know what the Bible says about the life and teaching of Jesus recognize that far from being like Jesus of Nazareth, today's "Religious Right"
are much more like the kind of clerics who battled this revolutionary prophet from the day he opened his mouth until the day they had him nailed to a cross.
Although these people claim to represent Jesus Christ, they rarely quote his teaching or follow his example.  What they do instead is use his name ("in vain")
to promote their ideas, ideas which Jesus himself did not teach, and might well have opposed.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.   Your Christians
are so unlike your Christ."
- Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi

Outright Libertarians is an association of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other self-identified "queer" (LGBTQ) Libertarian Party activists and supporters.  We welcome anyone who believes in individual liberty and personal responsibility, and who wishes to actively promote Libertarianism to all those who love differently.

The Republican Unity Coalition (RUC) has always been about one big idea: making homosexuality a "non-issue" for the Republican Party.

civil rights concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals in the central coast counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and

California Legislative LGBT Caucus - The LGBT Caucus was originally formed in June 2002. Its role is to present a forum for the California Legislature to discuss issues
that affect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Californians and to further the goal of equality and justice for all Californians. The LGBT Caucus’ formation made California the first state in the
country to recognize an official caucus of openly-LGBT state legislators.

Equality California - (Formerly California Alliance for Pride and Equality) - The mission of EQCA is to ensure the dignity, safety, equality and civil rights of all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer Californians by directly lobbying the state government for appropriate legislation and public policies; educating the public about the communities' issues and concerns; and working with other communities to promote equality and understanding.

Fresno Stonewall Democrats is a Chartered Club of the Democratic Party’s
County Central Committee. The Club is devoted to advancing the equal rights of
all people, regardless of sexual orientation, preference, or identity. Fresno
Stonewall Democrats support the Democratic Party and those Democratic
Candidates who support our mission.

The GLBT Alliance, Santa Cruz’ queer political organization, was created in the Spring of 2001 to fill the need for a progressive grassroots gay political group which would focus specifically on GLBT political issues where they diverge from the issues of the mainstream. In other words, while most of us, as individuals, work on nonqueer issues as well as on queer ones, the Alliance exists to ensure that the queer issues are not overlooked or assimilated into mainstream issues, and that a queer voice is present in all issues.

Colorado

About Us

We are the Colorado chapter of National Stonewall Democrats—a grassroots network connecting LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) Democratic activists through over 90 Stonewall chapters throughout the United States.

Additionally, Colorado Stonewall Democrats is an official initiative with the Colorado Democratic Party. This is a relationship which is somewhat unusual for a Stonewall chapter. As an official initiative, Stonewall has representation at the highest levels of the party through the Colorado Democratic Party Central Committee.

At the same time, Stonewall recognizes how vital activism is locally. We are continuing to establish Stonewall caucuses in individual counties or congressional districts where our members can be engaged and active in theircommunities. We are also establishing caucuses among groups within the LGBT community, such as our Transgender Caucus, to represent the diverse facets of our community.

Georgia

What is Log Cabin?

Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) is the nation's largest gay and lesbian
Republican organization.
We represent the next generation of the gay and
lesbian community. No longer will we be told where we must live, how we must
dress, who our leaders must be and how we must vote. Now there is a political
alternative.

Log Cabin was founded in 1978 to battle the nation's first anti-gay ballot
measure – California's Proposition 6, which would have made it legal to dismiss
gay or lesbian public school teachers solely based on their sexual orientation. The
gay Republican opposition in Los Angeles came to refer to itself as the Log Cabin
Club in reference to Abraham Lincoln and the heritage of the Republican Party.
These first Log Cabin activists enlisted Ronald Reagan to publicly oppose the
California measure, which then went down to defeat. Since then, Log Cabin
Republicans has grown to become a leading voice on the national stage on behalf
of the mainstream concerns of the gay and lesbian community.

Massachusetts

Welcome to the site for Bay State Stonewall Democrats (formerly Bay State Gay & Lesbian Democrats), working to advance gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights within and through the Democratic Party of Massachusetts.

The success MGLPC and our coalition partners enjoyed in the primaries is proof that IF the glbt community and our straight allies work together, if we get our people and our allies to register, to vote and to volunteer in campaigns, we can have an enormous impact on the outcome and an incredible impact on protecting our rights in the next constitutional convention.

The Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) is dedicated to ending discrimination on the basis of gender identity and gender expression. We educate
the public, lobby state and local government, encourage political activism, and empower community members through collective action.

The MTPC’s work is guided by the following values: equal rights and institutional responsibility; working against all forms of oppression; building broad-based participation and community power; developing leaders and building coalitions; drawing strength from diverse experiences and identities; being informed by our history and elders; growing through challenge and critique; being inclusive of those who cannot be fully visible; and accountability to the communities for which we work.

Montana

Pride Montana civil rights groups have joined a race against time to fight an antigay initiative that would embed marriage discrimination in the state's Constitution. Montana's Constitution is internationally recognized as a model for protecting individual freedom. Montanans for Families and Fairness has been launched to fight CI 96, the Marriage Discrimination Amendment. The first (and hopefully definitive) phase of the campaign is to make an impact on the antigay petition drive. If right wing evangelistas gather 41,000 signatures from 28 counties by mid-June, the constitutional amendment will be put to voters in the November election. HELP US KEEP DISCRIMINATION OFF THE BALLOT AND OUT OF THE CONSTITUTION!

We have no paid staff and no office. But we do have over 300 members, over 5,000 friends and a core of hard working volunteer board members who keep L.I.D. focused on these priorities:

The mission of the Texas Values in Action Coalition (TEXVAC) is to return fair-minded, honest, and progressive officeholders to all levels of Texas government.

TEXVAC is a new organization dedicated to electing Democratic candidates in North Texas. Successful races in 2004 in Dallas County and North Texas, coupled with competitive legislative districts, create a unique window of opportunity to transform politics in North Texas. TEXVAC is designed to harness momentum from local victories in 2004, seizing opportunities to create even greater change.

TEXVAC believes that the key to winning is supporting well-funded, well-trained, expertly staffed candidates running in targeted districts who are carrying a compelling message of hope and change. And that winning combination takes substantial early resources.

If you are tired of politics as usual for Texas Democrats - poorly financed candidates running with an underdeveloped message - then join the growing number of community leaders who are investing with TEXVAC to give Democratic candidates the resources and tools to win.

Through activism and outreach, we find free-thinking individuals in the gay community and introduce them to the Libertarian Party. By being active within the Libertarian Party, we work to keep the party lifestyle inclusive. And we work with the Libertarian Party to protect our individual freedoms and demand the equal rights and responsibilities guaranteed to all persons under the law.
