A refuge from male/female dichotomies,
sex-based stereotypes, and other gender madness...

Transitions That Work is a consulting service for transsexuals who plan to transition on the job, their coworkers, and their employers. We offer help in planning a successful transition, guidance for employers dealing with transition issues, and diversity training about transsexualism. We have available our brochure for employers; a paper version is available on request. We also have two books available: Transsexual Workers: An Employer's Guide and Working with a Transsexual: A Guide for Coworkers. The employer's book explains transsexualism and the process of transitioning from one sex to the other in plain language. Guidance is offered to employers and managers on every aspect of transition, from which restroom a transsexual employee should use to the application of nondiscrimination statutes to transgendered persons. Potential problem areas in the workplace are addressed, and a resource section points the way to additional books, websites, videos, and more. The coworker's book contains the same information about transsexualism and transitioning, but in the context of a transsexual woman's story. Questions coworkers frequently ask are answered, and pictures of transsexual professionals are included.

    Transgender at Work

The Transgender at Work (TAW) project is a focal point for addressing workplace issues for the transgendered. TAW provides resources for innovative employers who want to set their company employment policies to help their transgendered employees to be at their most productive, without spending energy hiding an important part of themselves and pretending to be something they are not.

Transgender at Work (TAW) focuses on voluntary cooperation between employers and employees. While civil rights laws are important to understand, and provide useful examples of language, advocacy for laws is outside the scope of TAW.

Members of TCOPS, Transgender Community of Police & Sheriffs, span the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.  We are patrol officers, deputies, federal officers, detectives, supervisors, reserve officers, support staff, and retired officers.  Welcome to our home on the internet.

The purpose of TCOPS is to provide information, education, support, and networking opportunities to members of the police community dealing with transsexualism behind the badge.

TCOPS was born out of the efforts of Dr. Tom Whetstone's study on transsexual cops in the workplace.  His work brought together deputies and police officers throughout the country.  Dr. Whetstone continues to provide his support and insight into our community.
